Preloved Stuff Galore

Yesterday, I spent a great deal of time and energy in practising selling and marketing pre-loved stuff at Subang Square, Subang Jaya. The event is called Awesome Possum Bazaar and runs for two days (Sat and Sun). I attended only one day.
Although only 25% of mostly my used things went on sale, I was not very disappointed. Just a tingy bit ungrateful of the money I earned. I expected 75% of the items to follow their new owners. Big Scotland photo frame and post cards are still waiting patiently to leave my sight. Clothes were not displayed, which was partly my fault, beacause I wasn't able to source out clothing rail. My next plan is to purchase a cheap cloth rack and a small trolley to move things.

My brother helped me. Thank you soooo much!
My friend visited me in the afternoon and helped me. Most of all she accompanied me, chatting and cracking silly jokes. Thanks Wan Hong!I'm planning to 'recruit' other interested volunteers next time. My bro and fren enjoyed throwing marketing ideas, and bro certainly tried and made a few sales. Oh yeah! Josephine, her mum and Vanessa also gave me support. And kakak too. They are already asking me when would the next sale be. Hmmmm....
Calling my booth's name Preloved Stuff Galore for now, instead of Used Stuff Galore and yes, am planning for the next sale!

Medication.

Euuuuugh...I just swallowed a pool of tablets. Hate inorganic chemical stuff in my body system that is worth RM45. Yewwww... Must get well soon. I don't like feeling ill, could not stay focus today, and I was promised to feel drowsy once the cold pill kicks into my body.

Sickly post.

Not feeling good today. Ill. Fever. Sore throat. Flu. DON'T jump into any conclusion by going anywhere near H1N1!!!! I was quite overloaded mentally last week, working full time and doing my own work until late night and waking up early the next day to hitch the bus ride. A change in my routine has affected my health, that's for sure.

And yesterday I spent the whole day selling off pre-loved goodies at Subang Square. Wanna see the photos of my booth?
I'll upload them in my next post, must hang the washed clothes, take a bath, pray, go to clinic, have lunch and add a few things to my working wardrobe.
*Feeling a bit dizzy and heart beating faster. No, I'm not in love or on a date. I'm not well. Mustt continue drinking water, my hands feel dried.

Linus.

I know Linus and Lucy are siblings, but I didn't know their surnames are van Pelt. Dutch origin? Being the younger brother of Lucy, Linus has suffered a lot. Bullied by Lucy almost in every cartoon strip. His security blanket is the only weapon he carries with him all the time. How not to see him striving for an eternal non-living friend when having a sister like Lucy? It's hard to be released from that comfort zone. Striving to escape from the clutch of his sister, Linus is unusually smart and can be quite philosophical, placing himself at risk with his critical female living companion.

Sibling rivalry is indeed the very critical issue occuring in the van Pelt's family. I just hope that Linus can stop suckling on his thumb one day and grow up to be a fine gentleman, living a healthy life free from his sister's attacks.

Retiree cycling tour in Malaysia and Europe.

It is in The Star newspaper today. A 57-year-old grandpa cycling throughout Malaysia to raise fund for his cycling tour in Europe next month. He is planning to conquer 16 countries by living and cycling with friends. What a feat! I wish him all the luck in the world, and who ever said that it' s not possible to do things when you are old. Visit his cycling blog and give him support by saying a few kind words or donating generously for the trip. A well deserved retirement life for the chap hah!

Now, David would be my inspiration to plan for my trip to Australia in August. I hope to stay with friends in Adelaide and Melbourne, whist planning for a walking/hiking trip there. It's not an easy attempt to travel solo. Lots of planning beforehand but I'm sure I would enjoy it.

Lucy.

I have come to believe that Lucy was entered into the world of Peanuts as an antagonist. She appears to be a darling but in reality she is the character that makes people doubt about the existence of a beautiful and perfect world.
She hits right on the head of the nail that speaks the fact of an incident. Never to be a person with double face, Lucy speaks what 's on her mind, rarely blinded by other people's opinions or comments, which is also seen of her love confession to the music genius in the cartoon strip, Schroeder.
So, there are only two words to describe my feelings for Lucy, either I disapprove her sharp and truthful words, or I admire her courage to voice out her sincerest judgment on every situation.

Koi/carp For Luck.

I have added a feng shui photo of a school of koi in a pond at the very end page of my blog, for LUCK lah. The size of the image is big, not because I am kiasu, but I am just not in the state to start tweaking the html design. Anyway, it does fit in to my blog and I'm really proud of it as I took it with my own camera. Not a painting ok, it's the real thing. ;)

Care for a mope from me:
fish koi carp
hello wei sawadeekap
pond shui aqua
no-duck buck and luck!

Snoopy snoop.

So, it turned out that Charlie B had a pet beagle named Snoopy. That is really a cheeky name isn't it, and it really sticks to your head? Do you know that Schulz (Charlie's creator) had a pet dog when he was a boy too? Not a beagle, but a pointer.
I now what is a beagle from 'The Nutty Professor', but a pointer....hmmmm??? Hence, I Google Image-d.

pointerbeagle
Want to know what I think about Snoopy? He is "funny, witty, charming, independent, a creative dancer, can be sensitive of his relationship with Charlie, sensible, loving, obedient, cheeky, an average cat-hater (not that I am) etc. Summing all these up, I love him as a good friend next to a human."
Man's best friend is definitely Snoopy!

Charlie Brown,

I guess this is the time to let the main character of PEANUTS out from the closet, or rather from the comic book. His name is Charlie Brown. To me , he is "bald with one or two hair, has a friendly smile which can sometimes turn into a frown or groovy, sulky whine, wears the typical shirt with bolded zigzag at the centre. He has a very low self-esteem most of the time, like girls, trying his darnedest to excel in baseball, loves his pet dog very much, respects his teachers and friends and always encourages others to be positive without being a good role-model in that sense."

What else about him? Charlie was named after a co-worker at Mr. Schulz's teaching place. However, Charlies' traits were actually the resemblance of Mr. Schulz himself. Both were shy and withdrawn. So, I guess all artistic people like writers, painters, curators and cartoonists create another world for themselves, sometimes they are exactly the same as the character, at other times they change the character a little bit to be something or somebody they wish they can be.
Charlie's dad is a barber and his mum is a housewife, and he has a pet dog. Mr. Schulz's dog was a pointer; Charlies's pet is a beagle. Mr. Schulz was dedicated to the world of ice hockey but I can't see how does baseball fit into the world of Charlie Brown. Why didn't Mr. Schulz make Charlie play ice hockey rather than baseball? Or was baseball never Mr. Schulz's cup of tea?

Hmmm...when will I ever get my HP Recovery disk burnt?

Burnt.

I am tired and mad and furious and...uuugh...just hate this feeling. I have been trying for hours to burn my HP Recovery data onto a disc via my laptop's DVD Writer but all I have to show myself is UNSUCCESSFUL FORMATTING & BLANK ON MY DISC.

Today is not the only time I've tried. I attempted to do the same earlier this week and still failure struck me right on my face. I am absolutely clueless and faithless now! If I bring my laptop to HP again, I'm afraid I'd burnout right in front of them, since I've visited them four times in the past two months. And I was promised that burning my recovery disc from the laptop would be a piece of cake. Right?!!!

Thoughts 3.

It's time to put my camera back into my handbag. It has been lounging in my room for more than two weeks as I did not go anywhere and had no intention to take any photos. Now that my photo storage has dropped to almost zilch, I feel responsible to add more images into my picture bank.

Challenges sprawled in natural ways
Beckoning joy hiding behind waves
Slash, whish, whoosh, whash
Rid the sand and angry roots
Happy lass again I stood.
