"........................................................................"

Just 50 metres from where i'm sitting now, i can hear gals screaming out loud, obviously enjoying (or horrifying) themselves in the London Mela, held in Gunnersbury Park. Must be a massive crowd out there. i should go there at this very moment, with my camera, taking photographs of the crowd gathering at this year's summer festival. somehow, my other side (i don't know which side actually) hinted me to stay at home and rest my legs for the whole day. it's not that i'd miss out on something new or precious. last year, i went there with my husband and 3 other friends, and really did enjoy ourselves loitering amongst the huge throng and feasting on our very own barbeque meal. so, nothing much to lose actually!

finally, i manage to get hold of Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince for 7.95 pounds from Tesco.;) it must cost about less than a hundred ringgit in malaysia. i shouldn't have also paid a pound to a bookshop for booking the book in advance, don't see what the point of doing that in the beginning.

i bought a basic japanese book last Friday, and i'm planning to bring it to nursery tomorrow, in an attempt to share (or attract, seduce or impress) it with a new 5-year-old Japanese girl in the nursery. oh, i just remembered that maybe i should also share a few accounts of how to communicate with a japanese child, if u don't know the language of course.
- if u want to ask her what is her father's name, "Watashi (i am) rani, anata (you are) ****** (the child's name), mama ****** (mother's name), papa?"
- if u want to take a photograph of her, but she doesn't understand cheese or smile, say "KONIKA" or "KODAK"!
- if u want to make her smile/laugh, take an empty kitchen roll and use it like a video camera. ask the help of another child to interview one of her friends, give them a topic like "Why do u like the rainbow?", follow the interviewer child wherever she goes in the classroom. the japanese girl followed me, was trying to push my bottom and laughing hillariously. i was just happy to be able to see her flashing teeth and jovial spirit that day. oh, don't forget to give the interviewer child a stick, or spoon as a microphone!

and there was this final account of a 4-year-old child explaining what 'poisonous' means to me?
"It's like when Snow White and the 7 Dwarves...how when she ate the apple given by the bad queen..."
"What happened to her?"
"She died after eating hte apple."
"So, what happens if u eat, or breath in something poisonous? Will it harm your body?"
"Yes, it will harm your body. It's not good."
And that's how i told the children about the meaning of 'toxic' too, which was actually part of a demonsration of hte volcanic eruption.
