A cheer for her.

I returned to an empty room yesterday. My 20-year-old roommate had left the room on Saturday. I only know her three weeks ago and we clicked on quite well.

She received news of her A-Level results on Thursday. 1 pass and 2 fails. She was pursuing first year Law degree in HELP and the requirement was 3 passes in A Levels. She had her administration fee deferred and decided to leave the hostel to stay with her aunt, where mobility and other household matters are more convenient to manage. She is planning to retake her A Levels and maybe if time allows, work to earn herself some money and gain experience.

I admire her perseverance, of able to bounce back so quickly after a slight hindrance on her journey to success. I was in university at the tender age of hers and was so pampered by Malaysian public tertiary higher education, as I was living in a campus lifestyle, cocooned by the local uni’s way of life- just study for 4 years and think about what you want to do when you’ve finished. She already has a dream to complete her Law studies in University of Manchester in UK and is willing to do anything to realise her dream. That is the spirit that every youth of this country should have.

Live a great life without regrets! I am trying to fulfill my dream too.

  1. I am really familiar with HELP as both my younger sisters completed their degrees from there. Used to be a lot of spoiled brats around. Not sure about now.

  2. just like before. spoiled brats everywhere flaunting their money and attire, and the way they talk urge me want to say to them, "just shut up".
i guess it has little to do with city lifestyle, hah.

so many foreigners there now, especially the afrikaans and middle east.

can count with my fingers the amount of malays.
