Well. A lot have happend and not happend this week. My holiday ends today. Returning to work on Monday. I just signed up for a 8-wek Japanese course starting on Monday. I applied for it, whether i have been accepted by the school, I'll have to wait until monday to find out.
A friend, and also ex-colleague, told me she is pregnant. 3 months pregnant. I am soooo happy for her. It's nice to know another friend of the same age is going to have a baby in May. How exciting!
Also knew from my husband, a friend and his wife are coming to uk next year January to start a new life here. His wife has a new job here and he is coming here to study and work at thesame time. I felt a little bit jealous in the beginning, imagine the amount of money they are able to save and have fun travelling at the same time. They asked far too many questions though, to my husband of course, not a single word in their email has a word mentioned about me. Don't get me wrong, I love friends coming to uk and do somehting good for themselves, but it's just the sudden news and too much questions from them. I have a strong feeling it's the wife's influence. Don't really know the wife. Well, good luck in whatever they want to do with their life... I don't care!
If given the chance, I would def encourage staying in UK. After all, you are already there, you have a job - and hopefully your hubby is able to get an offer before he finishes his course.
ReplyDeletePutting things in perspective - Malaysia unfortunately does not encourage creativity nor provide the financial security unless one is of the right race/religion. Sad- yes. Facts - yes again.
Furthermore - the quality of life is better. Lower cost of living (apart from rent etc), and travel choices galore. One also feels more flush as the pound sterling is so much more stronger than any other currency put together.
Family and the friendships suffer for sure - but if one is able to take a couple of yrs away (whilst building that nest egg) - why ever not? :-)
Good luck.
