Second Day in HELP

[This post should have been posted on 3 Jan 2008, however due to technical inconvenience on the author's side, it is only able to be viewed today.]

Today was the day I met the lecturers in HELP University College. Dr Goh Chee Leong, the dean of the faculty, diminutive in size but strong-willed and full of energy as he started to preach about the responsibility of a student studying psychology.

He can even talked incessantly for about 45 minutes with a few notes from his PowerPoint presentation. A student from University of Otago, New Zealand, he completed his undergraduate up to doctorate level in the profession he is currently in now. Tremendously passionate and a living example of a man with numerous hats, he is also very funny and able to interact amicably with the students at their levels.

The other staff members were also very distinguishable in their career. A newly appointed lecturer in particular who holds four different degrees in different fields, Professor Dr Mohan Raj Gurubatham. He eloquently introduced himself and painted a brighter and prettier picture of the profession of a psychologist. Everybody’s eyes were solely concentrated on his voice and himself. One of the girl freshies chatted with him as if she knew him as a friend. Must be a friend of her parents. How lucky!

There was also confusion which I am not going to describe here regarding the course and the one offered in ANU. I have to discuss with my husband on this matter.

Looks like I would not have a roomie!

I also stayed up at my friend’s place in Sunway yesterday. What a long journey it was to go there and return to campus today!

[Again today, how on earth does Stephen King do it???????? Read my previous blog to know what I’m talking about.]
