My sister-in-law warned me that I'll never be able to put this book down, no matter how hard I try. I was not so convinced. Khaled Hosseini proved me wrong with his first book "The Kite Runner". A true writer does not need bombastic words to knit an unforgettable story. Straightforward with twists and turns here and there at unexpected junctions. This is the first book that made me cried at the end of the story. Not only Khaled portrayed Afghanistan in the bigger picture, but he also stringed many relationship tales in the more intricate sense. The gist of the story is so so so painful and unimaginable, to the extent of humanity, but he managed to draw beautiful scenarios and describe certain unpleasant things in a deceitful way. Sought of deceiving the reader thoughtfully and protecting us from the tragic events in Afghanistan.
My advice: read this book and you will live for another day!!!
It is a very good book indeed! the kind that gets you into it..
