Kovalam Beach. Another aquatic place sent from heaven, a place where there is something for everybody to do. If you are just like me, aquaphobic and won't be able to save herself if drown in the water, go for body-boarding and get acquainted with the waves. Alternately, just make a mark on the beach, sun-basking, crowd watching, gulp the freshly cut fruit salad sold by the entrepreneurial Kerala women or just hone bargaining skill with the overly-enthusiastic cloth vendors.
I personally enjoyed the morning walk along the coast although a pack of seemingly well-trained dogs were leaping joyfully and sharing the same beach with the tourists. I was also fortunate to attend a 1 1/2 hour yoga session with a local yoga master. Miraculously, my aching right calf muscle healed after that session. Guess I was a good student and the teacher strictly knew his trade well!
Oh, not to mention the fishermen's pulling-fishing net-performance on one fine morning! Just like in the Indian movies I watched on Malaysia's tv network, the catchers actually sang harmoniously as they laboriously dragged the fishing net about 5 metres into the seabed to the coast line. I didn't have the patience to watch these phenomenal art of angling as I had to bid the call of souvenirs-shopping from the nearby shop outlets.
